Our Apartment is Getting Smaller

Well it's official. Our apartment is shrinking. It started out as a 2 bedroom and it was great because we had a room for storage and an extra bed if anyone wanted to stay with us. Then the mushrooms invaded and that room became unusable. Down to a 1 bedroom apartment. Still pretty nice because everything was still stored in the lost mushroom room so it didn't feel crowded or cluttered at all! Then the mushrooms made a stealthy move and infiltrated our bedroom. Last night we grabbed our mattress and retreated to the living room. Our apartment has offically gone from a 2 bedroom to a studio. Hopefully we can find a house quickly before we kill each other. Who knows, it could be fun, like building a fort out of the furniture in the living room when you were a kid and then "camping out" in it. Definitley more comfortable then any other camping I've done lately.

Finals Week

Hooray! Finals week is over! So, technically I didn't actually have any final exams but I did have 4 assignments do this week and it was the deadline to turn in any late assignments. My problem was that I thought finals week wasn't until next week and I had a few late assignments to finish too. To top it off I was SICK! I got sick the day we came back from Island Park and didn't really make it past the zombie stage until Wednesday so I had to really really scramble to get everything done on time. I ended up working down to the deadline but I got everything handed in on time. To celebrate I bought the new Stephenie Meyer book and read it in a day! It was really good! So now I have 4 weeks until fall semester starts and it's really weird trying to relax because it feels like I should be doing something else.

Island Park

Over the 24th of July my family had a reunion up in Island Park, Idaho so I dragged my reluctant husband up there for three nights. All of my dad's siblings and all of their kids were up there so it was quite a crowd. All of us stuffed ourselves into a two story 4 bedroom cabin. There was boating, fishing and 4-wheeling. We went 4-wheeling two days in a row while we were there and we both got pretty sunburned. I got a lecture about going too fast. Apparently going up on 2 wheels around a turn is reckless! We played lots of games and ate tons of food so all in all it was a pretty good time. I wish I had some pictures to post but I haven't gotten them from my family yet. Maybe later.

Fireworks!

A lot has been happening. At the beginning of July we were once again running the fireworks tent. I took the day shift which was nice and hot and Nolan and Brian kept each other company during the night shift and played video games. Lonna and Steve decided to make a late night visit and scare the crap out of the guys but from what I hear it was pretty entertaining. It was a pretty slow year for us so we stayed open an extra day to try and make some extra money. We ended up doing pretty decent. I'm glad it's over and as miserable as it is we'll still probably do it again next year!

X-Files

I know that everyone already knows that I'm a nerd, I'm just going to solidify that fact in your brains. I LOVE the X-Files! That was what I got to splurge on with the money we made from the fireworks tent (more on that soon). I now have every season and the first movie. Plus the next movie comes out on Friday!! I'm so excited! If you haven't watched the X-Files then I'm sorry, you're a loser. If you wish to redeem yourself in my eyes then you may borrow my new dvds. But just to warn you, many of them are scary. I can't watch them at night by myself and I even have a hard time watching them in the middle of the day on my own! Just remember, if you wish to leave the loser fold, let me know.

Just a quick note...

Just a quick note for everyone out there. The new James Rollins book, The Last Oracle, comes out on Tuesday and I'm pretty psyched about it! It's 4th in his Sigma series which fits into the thriller/ sci-fi genre. If you're a fan of Dean Koontz then you'll like James Rollins.
