Puppies!!!!

Early Wednesday morning (I'm talking super early, like 4:45 in the morning early) Jinx decided to have her first puppy. Over the next 4 hours she gave birth to 4 puppies. There are 3 girls and 1 boy! The boy is one of the white ones in the picture. Jinx did very good and didn't cry or even whine! All of the puppies are eating and moving around just fine. They've got an appointment on Monday to get their tails docked and their dew claws removed. Aren't they the cutest?! (Ok, so they look like little rats but they're so sweet!)

My poor car.

My poor little Insight has been injured. On Wednesday I ran to Old Gristmill for some lunch and took it home to share with Nolan. I parked in my usual spot, as far to the right as possible, and as close to the road as possible while still in the driveway. As I tried to figure out how to juggle a purse, a phone (which I was talking on) two bags of food and two sodas I noticed that my landlady's mother was getting into her car which was parked further up the driveway. So here I am walking up the driveway, juggling food and talking to my mom on the phone (aren't I great at multi-tasking?) when I realize that the landlady's mom is backing straight towards my car. So now I'm trying to yell at her that she's going to hit my car (while still on the phone with my mom) and trying to get her attention by waving my arms (which are full of food and soda). Needless to say there was a crunch and a few choice swear words (while still on the phone with my mom). Now my poor little car has a crack in the bumper and an appointment to meet with the insurance adjuster on Tuesday. Poor thing!

Tires

So for about the past month or so I've had a slow leak in one of my tires. It's really not too bad but over about a week it will lose about 10-15 lbs of pressure. I've just made sure to check it once a week. I know I should have just gotten the new tire but all my tires are getting pretty worn. I was hoping that it would make it long enough that I could put the snow tires on and not have to worry about new tires again until next spring. Well, I walked out of work on Monday to go to lunch and lo and behold I had a very flat tire; it wasn't the tire with the leak. That's right. One flat tire and one with a leak. I figured this must be the sign that I couldn't put off new tires any longer. But before I could do anything about getting new tires I had to change the flat. The first problem was that when we bought the car from my dad he had never needed to change a flat and told us he'd never actually checked to see if the car had a spare. The second problem was that I couldn't find where the spare tire was. I had a pretty good idea where it would be, I just couldn't get to it. After tracking down my dad (it's so nice that he works in the same building!) he showed me where the spare was and then he very kindly (and quickly) put the spare on for me. Isn't he sweet! I know you're supposed to get the spare back off fairly quickly but I guess it's even more important with the Insight. Apparently the spare tire is part of the frame of the car. When it's safe and secure in the back of the car it'll help if I get rear ended. If I get rear ended while the spare is doing it's job as a spare tire then my car will crumple even more than it inevitably will. Kind of a strange set up but with something that small I guess they have to use everything they've got! To wrap it all up I ended up spending my lunch hour getting new tires put on at Les Schwaub. Not what I had planned.

I've been tagged!

So cute Tracie Weston has tagged me. I have to list 7 random things about myself.
1-I have a purple belt in Kenpo Karate. It's one of my most favorite forms of exercise and strangely enough relaxation. I absolutely love it and I'm so excited to be doing it again.
2-I'm a closet Sci-Fi nut. Now some of you may be thinking "closet"? We know that you're a sci-fi nut. Well those of you who think you know are wrong. That's only a teeny tiny bit of the nut that I keep tightly locked deep inside. I'm talking Dungeons & Dragons, name my kids Luke, Leia, Ronan and Teyla, dress up like an elf (or due to my stature a hobbit) and attend sci-fi and comic con conventions sci-fi nut. Don't judge me.
3-I'm broken. Like seriously broken. I'm almost completely blind. If I set my glasses down turn in a circle and try to find them again it's not going to happen. I just can't see them. I have no thyroid. Well, it's there, it's just dead. I've managed to wreck my upper back waitressing and my lower back due to a fall in the freezer when I worked at Casper's Ice Cream. I've got a pinched sciatic nerve, a seriously jacked up knee and my right ankle likes to periodically remind me that I didn't take good enough care of a really bad sprain in high school. There's also the part where I can't seem to get pregnant so I'm sure there's something broken in that department that we just haven't figured out yet.
4- I'm a Halo addict. In case you don't know what Halo is, let me explain. Halo is the greatest video game ever! My hours of playing Halo with the guys when I was single are some of my favorite memories of living single in Logan.
5-I am a junk food junkie. I could live off of cake, cookies, candy bars, chocolate, sweets, and soda. The only problem with this diet strategy is that it seems to make my butt expand instead of shrink. Go figure. If you wonder where I got this wonderful addiction, check my dad's desk drawer at both work and home. He's got the chocolate stashed there. It's genetic I tell ya!
6-I am a better shot than my husband. I know, I know, he's a cop, he should be a good shot. Well he is! He's actually a dang good shot. He's also the one who taught me to shoot!
7-I absolutely have to fall asleep on my side (almost always on my right side) curled up into a very, very tight ball. It's very, very rare that I can fall asleep in any other position.

Now I'm tagging Leslie, Lisa, Lonna, Nicole, Hallie, Natalie and Shawna.

I'm Back Baby!!

It's official, I'm back in Kenpo! I went to my first class last night and it was awesome! It's over in Honeyville so it's a little bit of a drive but totally worth it. My class is two days a week and it's two hours long. Technically I should be in the beginners class since it's been like three years but since I got so far the last time I was taking classes, the instructor is letting me stay for the advanced class. I couldn't believe how exciting and fun it was to get into the class and start working out again. Don't know why but it's incredibly therapeutic to pretend like you're beating the crap out of someone. Don't judge me, I know I'm mental.

Geez...

Let me state from the beginning that I completely support McCain/Palin. I firmly believe that Obama is the wrong person to lead our country at this time. Now don't get me wrong, I'm totally supportive of the fact that Obama might be the first black man to be president of the USA. Good for him. It's a major milestone. But, if the only reason someone is voting for Obama is because he's black, then they're totally whacked in the head. Here's a sound clip to prove my point. It would be absolutely hilarious if it weren't so freaking scary!

I'm so mad I could spit!

Words cannot describe how mad/frustrated I am with our current economic crisis. As many of you know AIG recieved a bailout from the government to the tune of $85 billion dollars. Guess what they did within a week of getting their butts saved... they sent their executive on a retreat to one of the most exclusive spas in the country and ran up a nice bill of $440,000. Are you kidding me?!?! $440,000! Think of what the average american could have done with that money. Pay for a house, pay for their kids to go to college, buy 22 really nice cars, buy 1,760 new iPods, pay my bills for the next 20 YEARS. If you stuck that amount into a 3 month CD you'd have another $4,000. The interest alone is more then most people I know actually have in their savings accounts! What the freak!!! Here's the story.

I love October!

So October is my favorite month. The weather changes, the leaves change, and Halloween is at the end of the month. It's also the beginning of the Holiday season (or at least in my mind it is). Now in case you didn't know, my mom's birthday was on Monday. She is insanely hard to shop for and she couldn't even think of anything she wanted (well, anything that was in my price range). So I ended up just baking/decorating a cake for her. Don't get me wrong, it was a very cute and very delicious cake, it just didn't seem like enough of a gift for my mom. Well today I came back from my lunch break and was told that I had a package waiting for me at the front desk. My sweet mom had gone and bought me the very cute candle featured below. The pumpkin spice is my very favorite of all the candles that you can buy at any time of the year and I had mentioned it to my mom last week because her mom had bought her the same candle as a birthday present. Isn't my mom just the greatest!
