Introducing...

Here's the news you've all been waiting for... I'd like to officially introduce you to Atticus!

I know, I know, this name wasn't even on the list but when we brought him home none of the ones we liked fit him. For the first 24 hours he was just "Bub". Nolan spent a while searching online and we finally settled on Atticus. Isn't he cute! When we brought him home last Thursday he was just over 7 weeks old and weighed 16 lbs. Six days later he is 20 lbs. and he just keeps growing!

Jinx wasn't quite sure what to make of him the first night but they were happily playing tug-o-war by the second day.

He has a very sweet and mellow temperament and loves to play. It's adorable to watch the big clumsy guy go running after Jinx in the yard. I am VERY happy to report that he only cries for about 2 minutes when we kennel him for the night. Jinx was the complete opposite, she cried and howled all night long when we'd kennel her. Atticus has almost mastered the stairs and is starting to get the basics of potty-training! I just have to remember that even though he's bigger than Jinx, he's just a baby so I just can't expect him to know everything that Jinx does. Enjoy the pictures and I'll keep updating as he grows!

New Name Added to the List.

Tara has suggested another name that Nolan wants added to the list. Boaz. I've already made the poll so I can't edit it. If you like the name it'll have to be a write-in-ballot via a comment. Keep on voting!

I know! I know! I know! We're crazy.

In a little under 2 weeks we'll have a new family member! Nolan and I (mostly Nolan) are extremely excited to announce that on June 23rd we will be bringing home an 8-week-old Great Dane puppy! I know, we live in a tiny apartment, already have one dog, and are generally insane, but this is Nolan's dream dog. For some reason though, it felt like the right time so we've been keeping our eyes open for any puppies in the area. We got lucky and found this little guy down in West Valley and I managed to talk the owners into cutting the price in half. (Thanks for the bargaining skills mom!)

 

We drove down last week to look at the litter of 8(!) and this little guy came over to Nolan, laid down on his shoe, and very promptly fell asleep. My cute husband fell instantly in love and even though I was hoping Nolan would pick a girl, he was so freaking excited (evidence of that fact is that you can actually see Nolan's smile in this picture) that I couldn't tell him no.

 

So now we're trying to pick a name. It's Nolan's dog so the choice is his but I still hold veto power. We've got a list of names but can't seem to pick one so we decided to put it to a vote. Check out the names to the right and please put in your two cents!
