I have a problem.

Hello, my name is Breelyn and I have a book addiction. I know that the first step to solving the problem is to admit it, so there, I admitted it. I tried to hide the problem by making all of my books fit on one bookshelf but it just wasn't working anymore. There was no more room. So I went and bought a second bookshelf and by the time I got everything organized I realized that my second shelf was also full. If you don't believe me, look at the picture. The Alaskan Inn

As many of you know, it was mine and Nolan's 2 year anniversary on Monday. Since we are still young and relatively obligation free we decided to take off for a few days. I dropped Jinx off at my mom's on Saturday and then on Sunday we drove up Ogden Canyon to the Alaskan Inn. It's a themed hotel but it doesn't have the crazy themes like the Anniversary Inn. It's just a very rustic atmosphere with woods and cabins. They have chilled spiced cider waiting for you in your room and you order breakfast when you check in and they'll bring it to you at a time of your choosing in the morning. The rooms have jetted tubs and cable and dvd players with surround sound. I've attached the picture of our cabin. The second night we were there I thought it would be nice to add some bubbles to the jetted tub. While I was getting ready Nolan went right ahead and added about three times the amount of bubbles that you would usually use in a regular tub. Since this was a jetted tub it was probably 9 times the amount that we really needed. Needless to say we had a LOT of bubbles! Even with the bubble fiasco we had a really great time and plan on going back as often as we can. If any of you are looking for a really nice place to get away then we highly recommend the Alaskan Inn.

The Host book signing

In case you didn't notice, in my earlier post I mentioned that I was not one of the crazies waiting up until midnight to get my copy of The Host from Wal-Mart. I did not, however, mention that about two weeks ago I talked my sister into going to Stephenie Meyer's signing of The Host down in Provo. Well it turned out that to get tickets to said signing you had to buy a copy of The Host at either the Murray or Provo Borders and that tickets went on sale at 8 in the morning on the day of release. My wonderful sister Lainey got to Borders right at 8 and then waited in line for about an hour and a half. By the time she got our tickets there were only about 30 out of 500 left. Like I said, crazies. But we did get tickets and last Friday we drove down to Thanksgiving Point to get our books signed. The tickets said that the doors opened at 5 so we planned on 5 and made it at about 5:15. There was no line outside and when we got in we realized why. The Crazies had apparently been there all day and already had their seats. Needless to say Lainey and I ended up on the second row from the back. Stephenie Meyer came out at 7 and spoke for about half an hour and then she started signing books. Lainey and I finally got out of there at 11:30. That's right... 11:30! Almost every Crazy had 4 or 5 copies of The Host and they could also have two of the Twilight books. Sure, you're thinking that's only 6 or 7 books, what's the big deal? The big deal is that there were about 900 Crazies in front of us in line! At a minimum of 4 books a piece that still at least 3600 books that got signed ahead of us! I only had my single copy of the Host but I waited 6 and a half hours to get it signed. I guess in the end I'm crazy too. A book signing is probably something I'll never do again but at least I can say I did it.

The Host: Part II

**WARNING! Spoilers contained! If you haven't finished The Host do not read further!

Yes it finally happened. The Host was finally released! I was not one of the crazies who waited until midnight at Wal-Mart to purchase the book but I did go to Borders on my lunch break to get it. There were about 8 people in line and every one of them had at least one copy of The Host. It took me another day before I had time to sit down and read it but when I finally did I wasn't disappointed. True to form Stephenie Meyer's new book grabs you by the eyeballs and doesn't let you go until you had finished the last sentence. It took a few chapters to really understand everything that was going on and get to know the new characters but from there it's a smooth ride. I have to say that Stephenie Meyer really likes the love triangles. In the Twilight series you have Bella in love with Edward and he loves her. Then Edward takes off and Jacob is happy to fill in. Then Edward comes back and Bella realizes that she's in love with both of them! Well it's even crazier in The Host! Melanie loves Jared and he loves her. Wanderer (a.k.a Wanda) invades Melanie's body and due to Melanie's memories Wanda falls in love with him too! Two people, one body, they both love him. I really didn't see a big problem with that until Melanie started getting ticked at Wanda for her feelings about Jared! Then we have Ian. When Wanda and Melanie finally find the rebels Ian tries to strangle Wanda/Melanie because no one knows that Melanie is still there. As the story goes on Ian falls in love with Wanda! So what we have here is Ian in love with Wanda who loves Ian back but she also loves Jared. She has invaded Melanie's body and Melanie is in love with Jared and Jared is in love with Melanie but Melanie is being suppressed in her own body because of Wanda! If that doesn't make sense then don't worry because it's kinda hard to follow in the book too! In the end everything works out because we find out that Wanda can be removed from Melanie's body so the rebels kidnap another alien infected body to give Wanda a place to go so that Melanie gets her body back and Wanda gets a new one and gets to be with Ian! Now normally I get pretty sick of sappy love crap in my books but I really enjoy Stephenie Meyer. Feel free to rip my ramblings apart because you can't understand a thing I said. In the end it boils down to one simple fact. I really enjoyed this book.  

The Host

I can't wait! The Host comes out the day after tomorrow! For all of you who don't know, The Host is the new book by Stephenie Meyer. She is a LDS author who already has three books out called Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse. If you haven't read them you really should because they are incredible! The Host comes out on Tuesday, the fourth book in the Twilight series comes out on August 2nd and the Twilight movie comes out December 12th. If you haven't figured it out already, the whole series is kind of a big deal. Stephenie Meyer has even been proclaimed the new J.K. Rowling. But don't take my word for it. Go read the books for yourself, you won't regret it!
