Rodney, Rodney, Rodney!

Oh how this child keeps me on my toes!! Rodney is 18 months old now and never slows down. At his well check he weighed 19 lbs and is 31 inches tall. He's still not on the charts for his weight but he's in the 12th percentile for his height. The pediatrician is extremely happy with his progress and thinks we're on the right track.

Likes to get undressed before mom gets him up.

This child LOVES to climb! Every time I turn around he's climbing on something new. He makes me laugh and freaks me out all at the same time.

The problem with all the climbing is that he usually get stuck and then he yells and yells until I come help him.

Nothing unusual here...

until he pulled himself up here!!

I didn't think his toes would even fit there but he's his mom's son. He'll do just about anything for a cupcake first thing in the morning!

What's in here?

Caught in the act so maybe being cute will get me out of trouble?

Figured out there was enough space between the couch and blinds to play!

Love to climb ALL OVER Atticus. Sweet dog doesn't even move.

And way back to Halloween... There's only a few years where I get to dress him up the way I want.

YODA!!!

Bought these back in July for watching fireworks and he loves wearing them around the house.

Not sure why but Jenesey has a stick on stache that we had Rodney try on. Adorable!

Lemi-Shine!!

I am absolutely in LOVE with this stuff!!! We have absolutely horrible hard water out in Tremonton and it drives me insane! We've been here for over two years now and since we've moved in I've thrown away a bunch of my glasses because they just wouldn't come clean and the hard water just kept gunking on thicker and thicker. Seriously, look at how gross my big strainer had gotten. Yuck!!

I was complaining to next-door neighbor about it and she pulled a little bottle out of her cupboard and poured a bunch of powder (not drugs!) into a baggie and told me to give it a try. I thought "It can't hurt" so I went home and added it to my dish soap and ran the dishes. I opened the clean dishwasher and I swear I heard an angelic chorus! It was A-mazing! One wash did this to my strainer.

Beautiful, right! This miracle powder is Lemi-Shine and you can get it almost everywhere but I'd never even heard of it.

You put your regular detergent in and then add a little bit of this wonderful stuff and BAM! POW! Goodbye hard water stains!! They also have the liquid stuff like Jet Dry that you pour in once a month or so. It's not quite as strong so on it's own it still does a decent job, just not quite as awesome as the powder.

If you're fighting and losing to hard water you've got to try this stuff. I get so excited to see my clean dishes now! Nolan thinks it's funny how often I express my love for a silly cleaning product but I do! I absolutely LOVE this stuff!!

More Baby Proofing Please

I promise, my house is baby-proofed. My child is part monkey and definitely his father's son. Lonna tells stories of Nolan climbing to the top of a bookcase and laughing as he threw things at his siblings. I'm sure that's a part of my near future.

Bookworm in the Making

If you don't know that I absolutely adore reading then you have the wrong Breelyn and should quit stalking my blog. The rest of you know that I'm the type of girl who will read a book all night, pretend to be asleep when her husband gets up for work and then finish the book after he has left. While Nolan despises reading to the point that new golf clubs could not entice him to read ONE Harry Potter book he likes that I love to read and is very encouraging of my efforts to share my passion with our son. I don't have very many baby books but I have made it a habit to read to Rodney every day. The day he walked over to me with a book then sat in my lap and waited for me to read it to him was one my happiest mommy moments. Then the other day I heard him talking to himself and looked over to see this:

I'm doing something right!!

My 5K Goal

This past summer I've been trying to be more active. Rodney and I go for walks around town, I've been getting on the treadmill more regularly and Jillian Michaels has been kicking my arse via DVD. But I still needed a goal and watching the scale just makes me angry so I decided to quit checking and focus on a fitness goal. A 5K at the end of October. To accomplish this goal I bought these awesome new shoes! I've had knee problems for ages and after a lot of reading I decided to give these weird looking things a shot. I LOVE them!!! I haven't had any knee pain since I've started using them which is beyond amazing. Thanks to these sexy things I managed to run 1.25 miles last night without slowing down to walk. I have NEVER EVER done that! Look out Mantua 5K!!

My Cake Blog

Unless you're new to this blog you know that I love to make cakes. Wedding cakes, birthday cakes, baby shower cakes and cakes for me to sit on the couch and eat all by myself. It's been fun to learn and try new things and it's even helped me to make a bit of money on the side. The problem that I've been running across is how to show potential clients my portfolio. I have all of my photos on Facebook but it's a bit of a pain to friend a client and then have them browse through my photo albums. The only other place I've posted photos is sporadically throughout this blog which is supposed to be more family oriented. Lately I've even had people ask if I have a website. After lots of talking and thinking about it I finally sat down, put the work in and put one together. There are still a few things that I'll probably tweak but I'm excited to finally have a dedicated spot for my cakes. So please, check it out and if you know anyone looking for a cake for a special occasion send them my way.

Holy cow I can't believe my baby is one! Ok, technically is was over a month ago, but still, where did the time go? Lots of family came over and we had some good time with LOTS of cake!
