There have been a lot of cakes recently that I haven't been able to blog about. I took a break from cakes last spring because I was taking a full load of courses and getting ready for graduation while pregnant. Definitely no energy left for cakes.

Cousin's Wedding Cake
This wedding cake was for my (second) cousin Chelsie's wedding in October. I only had one week notice and it was pretty soon after we brought Rodney home so it was a little crazy trying to get everything in time. Tara was nice enough to come over and watch Rodney while I baked. Such a great sister-in-law!

Nolan's 28th Birthday Cake
Out of the blue Nolan told me that he wanted a Nintendo cake so I made one for his birthday in November!

Baby Shower Cake
I made this cake for my wonderful friend Leslie's baby shower at the beginning of December. Such a fun one to make! I wish I'd taken a picture after it was cut because it was chocolate and vanilla checkerboard!
March Madness Themed 30th Birthday Cake
My friend Melanie wanted a March Madness cake for her husband's 30th birthday. The idea for the cake was pretty simple - vanilla cake, cream cheese frosting covered in fondant with his favorite team logos on the side and the #1 seeds in the bracket on top. The logos ended up being a lot more complicated than I expected but my mom was there to help out!

3-year-0ld Birthday Cake
This cake was for a client of Samantha Jane, my super talented friend who did Rodney's newborn photos for us. This one a lot of fun with all of the colors. Instead of getting paid we did a big barter/swap so I did the cake and Samantha is going to do our family pictures in the near future! I love bartering!
And just for fun I'm posting a photo of Rodney at Chelsie's wedding that I found while looking for a picture of the cake. I think he's close to 3 months old in this photo. Enjoy!
