Update

It has definitely been a while since I've really posted. It's been a crazy few weeks and it's going to continue to be asylum-worthy for the next few as well. Let's start at the beginning; the fireworks tent. As many of you know this is a yearly form of torture that I love to put myself through. It includes sweltering temperatures, customers and their psychotic children, possessed credit card machines, the TNT rep from hell, a storage bin that refuses to give up it's contents and the ever beloved Cruise-in chaos. Why do I do it every year you ask? The first and obvious answer is that I love the payoff. Who wouldn't jump at the chance to pay for a semester of school in one week? It's during that one week that I always wonder if it's really worth the stress. As much as I hate it by the end of the week, I can't imagine not doing it. I pretty much grew up in those stupid fireworks stands and I think not working in one during the holiday would feel like an amputation. I don't actually know what I'd do if I wasn't working there. How do normal people celebrate the 4th of July? I honestly have no idea.
After the 4th there was the usual recovery period where I slept a lot, caught up on homework and tried to restore order to our apartment. I felt like I was trying to come down with a head cold but I did my normal thing and ignored it. Nolan took off early one morning to go on an all day guys 4-wheeling trip and when I woke up I felt like I was going to die. Fever, body aches, stuffed head and the all time favorite, barfing my guts out. I was the lucky winner of my very own case of Swine Flu!! Since Nolan was off playing all day and out of cell phone range my wonderful mother picked up my prescription and brought me noodle soup, sprite, Popsicles and the required chocolate. Thanks mom! Nolan felt horrible that he was out playing while his wife lay dying and it will continue to be a weapon of guilt that I will use repeatedly for years to come. If you're wondering where I managed to contract this awesome disease, well, that's also being blamed on my sweet, sweet hubby. He spent the whole day playing video games with his brother a mere 24 hours before said brother was diagnosed with Swine Flu. Yep, my husband might be impervious to small evil germs, but he still managed to be a carrier! Just one more weapon of guilt added to my arsenal. The next week after that is all a blur. I slept, and slept, and took some medicine, and slept, and ate some soup, and slept, and slept some more.
Now I'm back in the game. I'm down to 2 weeks left in my class for the summer! A few big assignments, a couple quizzes and I'm down to 2 semesters before I graduate!
This week is another notch on the crazy meter though because I am making not one, but two wedding cakes. One is for a cute girl named Andrea Baldwin that is from my home ward. This one makes me feel really old because I used to babysit her and now she's getting married. The other cake is for my old roommate Leslie's sister-in-law. It's going to be a very busy week but I love making cakes!
After that we're heading for Vegas for a few days in the beginning of August. I get a great deal on rooms because Legacy House is owned by a sister company of Hilton so we're getting an awesome suite for super cheap! It'll be great to get away and get a vacation and we're going with our friends Tony and Ginger so it should be a blast.
Our cute puppy Atticus is still growing faster than a weed. It's crazy but you can actually see a difference from one day to the next. When he went to the vet last week he had officially double in size in the 4 weeks that we've had him. He's now tall enough that Jinx can walk under his belly. But he's still just as sweet and mellow as ever. He's doing great with house training and he doesn't seem to have any inclination to bark when he's outside. I think he is definitely our reward after raising Jinx, the puppy from hell.
I'll try to post pictures in the near future but until then, stay classy.

I'm always suprised about fireworks booths, here in AZ it's aginst the law to sell fireworks. But I'm glad you did well!
Did you get back in you apartment? What an odd thing to happen in Logan, mudslides are supposed to happen in CA.
Keep up the good work in school, it will be worth it someday soon.

Maybe someday we will include you in our 4th of July celebrations!
I know it was strange for the girls and I when we left the flower shop to have a real holiday. Our favorites to look back on a breathe a sigh of relief are Mother's Day and Valentine's.
