I know, I know, this name wasn't even on the list but when we brought him home none of the ones we liked fit him. For the first 24 hours he was just "Bub". Nolan spent a while searching online and we finally settled on Atticus. Isn't he cute! When we brought him home last Thursday he was just over 7 weeks old and weighed 16 lbs. Six days later he is 20 lbs. and he just keeps growing!
Jinx wasn't quite sure what to make of him the first night but they were happily playing tug-o-war by the second day.
He has a very sweet and mellow temperament and loves to play. It's adorable to watch the big clumsy guy go running after Jinx in the yard. I am VERY happy to report that he only cries for about 2 minutes when we kennel him for the night. Jinx was the complete opposite, she cried and howled all night long when we'd kennel her. Atticus has almost mastered the stairs and is starting to get the basics of potty-training! I just have to remember that even though he's bigger than Jinx, he's just a baby so I just can't expect him to know everything that Jinx does. Enjoy the pictures and I'll keep updating as he grows!

Cute! We did the same thing when we got our cat, the name we picked out didn't fit so we had to search for a while to find one that fit her. I thought that only happened with babies. But animals have their own personalities too.
I hope Jinx enjoys her tug of war victories now. I don't think they'll last.
Bryan, the only reason she's getting victories now is because he's such a clumsy guy. He's definitely stronger already though.
Such a tiny little horse. Don't worry someday you will be able to ride him!

Atticus is a very good name! Makes me think of To Kill A Mockingbird. Your "puppy" is already twice the size of my full grown dog! Good luck with the potty training!
Aw! He's really cute, Breelyn! And I LOVE the name Atticus. How could I not when I love To Kill A Mockingbird and Atticus Finch is one of the best literary figures of all time? Congrats on your new puppy and I hope you're having fun with him! :)
