Tires

So for about the past month or so I've had a slow leak in one of my tires. It's really not too bad but over about a week it will lose about 10-15 lbs of pressure. I've just made sure to check it once a week. I know I should have just gotten the new tire but all my tires are getting pretty worn. I was hoping that it would make it long enough that I could put the snow tires on and not have to worry about new tires again until next spring. Well, I walked out of work on Monday to go to lunch and lo and behold I had a very flat tire; it wasn't the tire with the leak. That's right. One flat tire and one with a leak. I figured this must be the sign that I couldn't put off new tires any longer. But before I could do anything about getting new tires I had to change the flat. The first problem was that when we bought the car from my dad he had never needed to change a flat and told us he'd never actually checked to see if the car had a spare. The second problem was that I couldn't find where the spare tire was. I had a pretty good idea where it would be, I just couldn't get to it. After tracking down my dad (it's so nice that he works in the same building!) he showed me where the spare was and then he very kindly (and quickly) put the spare on for me. Isn't he sweet! I know you're supposed to get the spare back off fairly quickly but I guess it's even more important with the Insight. Apparently the spare tire is part of the frame of the car. When it's safe and secure in the back of the car it'll help if I get rear ended. If I get rear ended while the spare is doing it's job as a spare tire then my car will crumple even more than it inevitably will. Kind of a strange set up but with something that small I guess they have to use everything they've got! To wrap it all up I ended up spending my lunch hour getting new tires put on at Les Schwaub. Not what I had planned.

Oh, I'm so glad Lainey told you about our blog. It's so fun to get caught up again. Sorry to hear about the flat tire, it's so nice to have guys to take care of those things for us, like dad's or husbands in my case! My neighbor just had me read Twilight and I love it too. Sounds like you guys are doing great I'll be checking your blog.

There I am Monday driving home from work when I end up at a stop light on 14 and Main. In front of me is an Insight. I think to myself I wonder if that is Bree. Then I notice the spare tire and I think that sucks for whoever it is. The light turned green and we went our separate ways. Not another thought until now. Now I think to myself "Man, that REALLY sucks!!"

Sorry about the Flat!! Good thing your Dad was there!

Yay for dad! Boo to tires!

I hate spending money on tires. And toilet paper, too.

Hey! I was excited to see you did the tag! Thanks! You're too cute! And...we are not sure where we will be living when we're done with the training. I secretly hope closer to utah(or even better, in utah)! I'd love to be closer to family and friends. Will you guys be around for Christmas? We'll be in Logan the whole time for Christmas, so we'd love to hang out with you guys!!!

I can think of a lot better things to do for lunch, like maybe eating. But we each have our own ways to have a good time, it just seems strange that yours is buying new tires. Shoes or purses ican see but tires--not! Sorry that you had to go through it.

It is always nice to have a Dad around in a 'go-to-moment'. Sorry to hear about your flat tire but I am glad your Dad was there to help. I like it when they put the spare tire outside the car instead on under the trunk mat. It is a major pain to unload your trunk to get to the tire and the jack.
